Cream, Led Zeppelin, Bowie, Elton John, Steely Dan, the Eagles, the Who, Rod Stewart and the Faces. All names that would last for decades and are mostly still going now. I was lucky enough to be 18 in 1975 and living in the middle of it all in West London, buying the records and attending gig after gig from 1972  on the pub circuit, in theatres and the occasional arena and stadium. All paid for by my Saturday and holiday shop worker earnings. For 5 or so years, before I got a real job and a haircut, it was fantastic burning the candle at both ends and in the middle.

I spent my first year's student grant on a cheap spanish guitar and and early wages on the Les Paul copy above. It was fun while it lasted but  the guitars gathered dust whilst I focussed on earning a wage, marriage, mortgage etc. Here is a sample of a few of the headlines and articles from those days.  I hope you  enjoy them as much as me.
